For the difference between belt type linear guide slide and screw rod drive slide table, many users may be difficult to distinguish. The skilled engineers with many years' experience think that the positioning accuracy of synchronous belt drive in practice is lower than that of ball screw.

1、 Ball screw drive is that the motor drives the ball screw to roll through the coupling or synchronous pulley, and then pushes the slider fixed on the linear guide to move back and forth. The ball screw has the characteristics of high positioning accuracy, small friction, high rigidity and strong load capacity. But to achieve precise positioning. Speed, depends on the speed of the motor and the size of the lead screw. The larger the lead of the lead screw, the faster the slider of the single axis manipulator moves at the same motor output speed.

2、 The synchronous toothed belt drive is driven by the motor to roll the automatic wheel of the synchronous belt, and then the belt drives the slider on the linear guide to move back and forth. The synchronous toothed belt has the advantages of low noise, fast moving speed and low cost. Speed, generally can achieve higher speed than the ball screw. At the same time, there is no critical speed constraint, so it has more cost-effective in long-distance transmission.

3、 The ball screw slide is better than the belt when it is used in practice. However, in the electronic industry, when the stroke is more than 1.5m, the screw has no advantage in its mechanical structure.

The design of x-axis and y-axis mechanical sliding table mainly considers the following aspects:

1. Component and size, i.e. the structural scale of the two main and auxiliary modules under rigid condition, and velocity, i.e. the motion speed of the two main and auxiliary modules.

2. It is safe, reliable, stable, economical and practical.

3. For the positioning accuracy of the main and auxiliary modules, the repetitive accuracy and positioning method should also be considered for manual operation, and the load or clamping force of the actuator of the auxiliary module.

4. Transmission method, that is, what power source and transmission mechanism, control method, such as electric control, pneumatic control, etc.

Belt slide and screw slide are the two most common types in slide family. As automatic transmission parts with high precision, high load, high speed, simple structure and convenient installation and protection, they have excellent performance price ratio, so they are almost applied in various fields. However, there are many differences between these two types of slides, and accurate understanding of the differences between them can help customers select the most suitable products to meet their production needs.

The difference between belt slide and screw slide is in accuracy and speed. Because of the structure, the speed transmission function of belt type slide is better than that of screw type slide. Therefore, when we use it, speed or acceleration is the top consideration factor, belt type slide is generally selected.

In the structural design, the screw type slide focuses on the consideration of precision, thrust, stiffness and other aspects, so its motion precision is higher than that of belt type slide even more than 5 times, and its precision is now up to  ± 0.01mm。

On the whole, the belt slide has high precision, excellent load capacity and long service life. It is mostly used for long stroke transmission mechanical equipment above 1m; The screw type slide has high precision and smooth operation, which is mostly used for fine-tuning or micro motion transmission mechanical equipment.
